The Perfect Fitness Perfect Push-Up are probably the most widely known brand of rotating push-up handles.

Invented by a US Navy SEAL to optimize the traditional push-up and designed to support users up to 400 lbs, the Perfect Fitness Perfect Push-Up recruits more muscle fibers while reducing the strain on your hands and wrists. Its patented design features a ball bearing system that allows for a smooth and full rotation for natural alignment of your arms and wrists.

You can use these rotating push-up handles in a variety of ways:

1. Rotate Outwards

This move gives you more of a chest and triceps workout.

  • Start with your hands in a hammer position and go down towards the floor into a push-up
  • As you come up, rotate outwards with your hands into a horizontal grip until you are at the top of your push-up
  • Rotate your hands back inwards as you come down into another push-up

2. Rotate Inwards

This move engages more of the chest, triceps, and shoulders (not recommended if you have a shoulder injury).

  • Start with your hands in a hammer position and go down towards the floor into a push-up
  • As you come up, rotate inwards with your hands into a horizontal grip until you are at the top of your push-up
  • Rotate your hands back outwards as you come down into another push-up

3. Rotational Push-Ups

Because the push-up handles feature an anti-slip surface, you also have the option to do more dynamic push-ups such as rotational push-ups to work more of your shoulders and obliques as well as improve your balance.

  • First, do a regular push-up
  • When you come up to the top of your push-up, carefully raise one of your arms straight up into the air while rotating your body into a side plank position so that your body forms a T shape (keep your arm close to your body while you are raising it)
  • Lower your arm down (again, keep it close to your body as you do this move) while rotating your body until you are in the starting push-up / plank position again and repeat with the other side

4. Rotational Tricep Dips

You can also add extra emphasis on your tris and use these rotational push-up handles to do bench dips.
